A Little Rain Didn't Stop the Fun

Some hearty soles braved the weather and ventured out to celebrate Kentucky Derby Day "Old Jail Style." Mint juleps were served on the porch of the Vineyard Cabin as visitors listened to the sounds of "Just Us," Herschel Parker and the "Dulcimer Darlings." Don McGee and is mules Jed and Jesse provided wagon rides around town, as the ladies delighted all with their hats. Horseshoe games were played on the grounds of the Redwine Pioneer Schoolhouse.

Mrs. Cabe, Vernon Stewart and Debbie Gibbs were awarded prizes from Stylin' Hair Salon, the Ware House and AlliWoodsFrederick.com for their hats.

If we reprise this event, we'll hope for better weather, but it was agreed that a good time was had by all despite the rain and cold.
