Rick Yates, Northern Brigade Commander, Sons of Confederate Veterans, General Richard M. Gano Camp, was the guest speaker at the Monday, May 17 meeting of the South Sebastian County Historical Society. Yates discussed plans for the up-coming opening of the Richard M. Gano Civil War Museum at Chaffee Crossing. The museum will feature civil war documents and artifacts, with emphasis on items relating to Sebastian County and the surrounding area and the roles of the Cherokee and Choctaw nations in the War Between the States.
